First of all we would like to thank all the members of the CPWA for electing us as the President
and General Secretary of our association. We do hope and promise that we will carry forward the good work that our predecessors
have done with the help of the new team of management committee that you have elected.
The CSIR Pensioners Welfare Association (CPWA) that has recently completed 25 years of its existence was formed on April 12, 1992 at Lucknow and registered on Nov.4, 1993 under the Uttar Pradesh Societies Registration Act No. 21 of 1860, with an all-India jurisdiction. The membership of the Association includes all categories of superannuated employees (DG down to Group 1) from CSIR establishments throughout India.
The primary objective of the Welfare Association is to look after the welfare of superannuated CSIR employees besides holding social activities for interactions among the members and Society. Over the years several new and useful activities have been undertaken by different Centres of CPWA. Several Centres had requested for allowing medical facilities to pensioners from dispensaries of other CSIR labs when the pensioners are away from their hometown. In pursuance of CPWA’s request to CSIR the DG CSIR has issued such orders recently. The copies have been sent to all the Centres and are also available on CPWA Website.
We realize that the financial position of many of our Centres is not very healthy. We, therefore, urge the ECs of all the Centres to discuss and find out ways and means to improve their financial condition. You are aware that we all belong to vulnerable part of population to COVID-19. Please take care of your own health and follow the directives given by the Government to restrict the spread of the virus
